This Week in Track AND Spring Break Workouts

Thursday's JV Meet at Legend has made our week pass quickly! Spring Break begins Friday.

We have workouts on Friday morning, a varsity meet scheduled for Saturday, and ALL JV and Varsity athletes will have workouts during Spring Break (those who are out of town should print and complete the Workout Schedule linked below).

Here are all the details -- LOTS to communicate this week so please read thoroughly:

Thursday, March 21 @ 3:30 p.m. -- JV Meet at Legend High School (click here for map)
  • We have a bus to and from the meet
  • JV athletes will be dismissed from class at 2:20 p.m.
  • Bus leaves at 2:30 and will return to HRHS when the meet has finished
  • Athletes should plan to stay for the entire meet

Friday, March 22 @ 9 a.m. -- Practice for ALL athletes (JV and Varsity) @ HRHS

Saturday, March 23 -- Varsity @ Sabercat Invite @ Sports Authority Stadium (click for map)

Monday - Wednesday, March 25-27 @ 9 a.m. -- Practice for ALL athletes @ HRHS

Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30
  • Part of our varsity team will be competing at the Texas Relays in Austin, TX. Those who are going will receive an email with details from Coach Padjen on Friday.
  • Athletes who are not in Austin need to work out!!
It is critical that athletes attend practice on the days scheduled or, if they are out of town, complete workouts on their own. Missing an entire week of training puts us more than a week behind when we come back from Spring Break. Parents, please support your athletes in completing their workouts each day during Spring Break. Athletes who are in town are expected to attend all scheduled practices. Click here for the Workout Schedule to be completed by athletes who are out of town and for the Thursday/Friday workouts for all athletes who are not traveling to Austin.

Lastly, folks, it's COLD out there at practice and meets! Our first JV meet was balmy, but the varsity meet last week was cold and windy, and we can expect more of the same in coming days and weeks. Cold weather increases the risk of injury, especially when athletes come to practice or meets in shorts and t-shirts.

  • Our HR Track Sweatpants are thick and warm (plus they have pockets!) and they're a great deal at $20. Our HR Track Sweatshirts ($35) look great, are well made, and keep kids warm too.
  • Click here to order online, and we will deliver items to your son or daughter at practice (for JV this week we will deliver in time for Thursday's meet for orders that are placed by noon on Thursday -- temperatures are expected to drop by 10 degrees from mid-50's to mid-40's between 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday).
