Winter Track and Signing Update

We want to start out by giving a huge congrats and invite everyone to signing day tomorrow at 3 in the HRHS Auditorium. We hope to see everyone there. The following track athletes will be signing...

  • Kyri Chambo- Bryant University for Dive
  • Jillian Borgerding- West Chester University for Volleyball

Secondly, starting November 26th we will begin Winter Track. This year we have registered for a USATF Club Membership so that students at Cresthill can participate as well. We will hold Winter Conditioning every school day leading all the way up until our season starts. If you are not in a winter sport, you should be joining us!

Final Track Email of the Year


Thank you again for such a great season. Again, special Thank You to Kim Turnage, Tara Chambo, Gayle DeMasse, Kristin Gwyn and all our assistant coaches! The banquet was awesome last night and we really enjoyed the whole season.


Summer Training Information

I know the season just ended but we get better by working in the offseason. If you are participating in cross country you need to be working out during the summer. If you only do track we expect you at the speed camp to get better.


Track Speed Camp

For current 5th, 6th 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders (2017/18 school year)

Dates: Monday thru Thursday June 4 -28th @ 11 am

Cost - $100 -- Checks payable to HRHS Track

Sign-up: June 5 at the entrance of the Main Gym (Camp will meet there each day)

THE PROGRAM WILL INVOLVE FORM/SPEED/AGILITY TRAINING, POWER AND CORE DEVELOPMENT AND PROPER LIFTING TECHNIQUE (It is NOT a conditioning camp)

Cross Country Camp Information

During summer we meet 5 days a week for high schoolers (2 for middle schoolers) to run from June 4th-July 20th. Information can be found here and a calendar can be found here.

During the last week in July we take kids up to Copper for an awesome high altitude training camp. Information can be found here

State Info, Banquet Info and Uniform Turn in

Good evening, happy belated Mother's Day and Happy Birthday to our own Dr. Page. Although the year and track is winding down we have a really busy week!

Banquet Info:
Our banquet will take place at HRHS at 6:00pm on Sunday May 20th. This banquet is for all athletes (varsity and JV). Check your email from Tara Chambo to see more information and what you need to bring.

State Info:

State will be held at Jeffco Stadium Thursday-Saturday.
What a season! We will have 26 athletes representing us at the state meet, either in the meet or as alternates for relays. Every single member has worked hard this year and for most of them many years to get to the high level of excellence. Huge congrats to the girls for qualifying all 5 out of 5 relays!

First and foremost thank you so much to all the supportive parents we've had all year. Between running two meets, fundraising, supporting the team and your athletes you guys have been awesome! We truly couldn't do all that we do without you!

Flower Sales

Community Service 
We need help unloading flowers (at around 9am on Wednesday) and holding signs for drive up orders for flowers, anytime afternoon but especially right when school is ending. If you are able to work these hours you will get community service hours for it. Please let Douglass know ASAP.

Weekly Updates: April 23rd-28th Part 2!

Normally, I try and keep the emails to once a week but I wanted to send out an end of the week email with a few updates and reminders.

Liberty Bell Heat Sheet
This is for Friday only, Saturday's has not been released yet. Also Section 1 and 2 for guys and Section 1 for girls in the 3200 will compete on Friday. Section 3 for the 3200 boys will compete Saturday.

Final things, we are fully into our Mother's Day Flower Fundraising. Today the athletes will be getting physical order forms. However, we also accept online orders. This is our season's biggest fundraiser and helps us have enough money to have a full staff, new uniforms, meet entries and buses among all the other miscellaneous expenses. Arizona Recap
Last week we took 24 athletes down to Arizona to compete in the Chandler Rotary Invite. This was a great trip that proved what phenomenal athletes and people that we have on this team. Here is a link to all the results. For a 120 team meet we placed extremely well!

Parent Meeting Recap

Thank you so much to all the parents that attended. It is awesome to see the parents as excited as the athletes for track to start. We really couldn't have the top notch program we have without the parents. BOOSTER FEES

Spike Night- Wednesday March 7th at Runners Roost in Lone Tree 9994 Commons St. Lone Tree, CO. We will get a discount and 10% of the money spent there will go back to the program.

HRHS Track has a rich tradition of parent involvement, and our volunteers are part of what makes our program great! Here's how you can get involved this season:

Team Dinners
Team dinners build camaraderie among our athletes, coaches and parents. Hosts provide the home and pasta/sauce/protein. Co-Hosts help set up, serve and clean up. Other volunteers provide food and drinks and are welcome (but not required) to stay for the dinner. Click to see how you can help:

  • Each athlete is required to sell a minimum of 6 plants. Athletes collect cash or check up front. Checks made out to HRHS TRACK. 
  • All orders/payments must be turned in to coaches by TBD
  • All orders will be available for pickup at HRHS on Wednesday, May 9th (noon - 6pm).
  • NO PLANTS CAN BE KEPT PAST MAY 9. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP THAT DAY.

Parent Information and Dates


Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! Below we have a bunch of important information and dates.

Official Season- Starts on Monday, February 26th. To register follow this link. Also make sure you have a current physical on file. We will be continuing track camp everyday this week.

Booster Club Meeting- If you want to be apart of our Booster Club we will be having a meeting on Monday February 26th at 6:45 in Coach Krauss' room- 1285. If you want to be in the booster club but cannot attend please contact Coach Douglass- ddouglass@dcsdk12.org

Required Parent Meeting- 6:45 in the HRHS Commons on February 27th. Please plan on attending

Spike Night- Wednesday March 7th at Runners Roost in Lone Tree 9994 Commons St. Lone Tree, CO


Meet Schedule- Here is a link that will have all our meets for the season. JV will open their season on March 9th at Regis. Varsity will compete the following day at Echo Park for League Relays. More information will follow once the season actually starts.

HRHS Hosted Meets- This year again we will be hosting two meets at Echo Park Stadium. We need your help with volunteering. Attached below is a sign-up sheet for both meets, we'd love your help!

Arizona Trip Information

As the season gets closer we wanted to send out an email strictly with information on our Arizona Trip. This trip has been a great team experience and helps us reach the top level.

Information-
We will be again competing at the Chandler Rotary Invite. This is a great meet where almost all our athletes can compete.

For our Trip- We will be leaving on Thursday March 22nd and Returning Sunday March 25th.

Flight Info- We have purchase tickets to fly down as a group. Our flight is on Southwest Airlines. Departing from DIA at 5:55 on Thursday March 22nd, we will meet at the school to carpool at 2:30am. Our Return fly will land us back at DIA at 9:35am on Sunday March 25th.

Hotels- We will be staying at the Quality Inn Hotel Located in Chandler.

Prices- The fee is all inclusive. This includes plane tickets, hotels, transportation, food and meet entry. We have two price points- one if you're flying on your own, one if you're flying with the team. Either way you are expected and required to stay with the team.

Prices for flying with the team- $670
Prices for meeting the team down there- $415

Everybody athlete attending and their parents are required to attend an information parent meeting. This meeting will take place in Coach Krauss' classroom- room 1285 March 6th at 6:30 pm.

Checks are due ASAP as space is limited. Make checks out to Highlands Ranch High School.
