We had perfect weather for the George Washington Invitational on Saturday, and we're looking ahead to one of the busiest weeks of this season. Also, please read to the end of this post for a look ahead at our end of season banquet and summer camp dates.

Click here for meet results from Saturday and scroll down for placewinners. Photos will be posted later this week. (The meet hasn't posted the results yet but when they do the link posted will have them)

This Week:

  • Wednesday 4/24 -- JV Championships @ HRHS (Varsity athletes will be helping run the meet)
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
  • Saturday, May 4 -- HRHS Memorial Invite-- Our team hosts this meet, and we can't do it without a LOT of help from our parents! You can't get a better seat to watch your athlete compete!
  • Sunday, May 19 @ 6pm -- Track Banquet  @ HRHS Commons -- All JV and varsity athletes who complete the season with us are invited to celebrate our season. This happens on the day after the State meet. Contact Tara Chambo to help coordinate this special celebration for our athletes.

Entries for GW Patriot Invite and Fresh/Soph Meet

Happy Tuesday,

Great job to JV yesterday at Thunderridge!

We will have practice this Friday at noon. We don't have school that day but there are mock-AP tests so we scheduled practice after so there is no conflict.

Here are the entries for Saturday's Meet, the GW Patriot Invite.

Coach Douglass lives right across the street from All-City Stadium, where the meet is held. Directly after the meet Coach Douglass and Coach Krauss will be grilling. Everyone is welcomed! If you plan on attending please write your name on this sheet so Coach Douglass knows how much food to get (also email him if you have any specific allergies).

Monday, April 22nd is the Ponderosa Fresh/Soph Invite, held at Echo Park Stadium. We have no bus to or from the meet so we will organize rides this Thursday. Here are the entries

T-Shirts are in! This year we decided to buy everyone on the team an HR Track t-shirt. THEY ARE COMPLETELY FREE! However, as part of the HR Memorial Invite every year we raise money and make a donation. Instead of charging for the shirts, we wanted all the money to go to the donations. This year we are honoring someone very special to the team and to Coach Douglass. One of Coach Douglass' best friends and an HRHS Track Alum was diagnosed with testicular seminoma in October. Any donations will go to help his fight and help him pay his medical bills.

LOTS of new photos + results + the week ahead

The look of shock on Coach Douglass' face when
he heard his 72 sec split for the first 400
Weather got in the way of 2 scheduled meets last week, but our late start at Denver Christian allowed us to catch some sunshine and get another varsity meet in the books on Saturday.

Coach Douglass and Coach Ellis ran the alumni mile and their pictures are featured today. Coach Price says he will race a mile if we get 50 likes on this tweet. We're over 50, but just in case he needs a little extra encouragement....you can like and share here.

  • This weekend, we added LOTS of new photos not just from Denver Christian but also from the JV @ Ponderosa meet and additional photos from Arizona. Click here to see them all.
  • Our athletes took home a lot of awards from Denver Christian and set a few new meet records! Click here for complete results. Scroll down for placewinners.

Coach Katie Ellis finishing strong
A special thanks goes out to all our volunteers who have hosted and helped with Team Dinners so far this year and who have already signed up to help with our May 4 meet!
  • Click here to volunteer at our meet. Volunteer for your athlete's event to be right down where the action is. No experience necessary. Our coaches will be head officials for each event, and they need your help to make all the events run smoothly. Thank you!

Coming This Week

The forecast looks a lot more like Spring for our two meets in the coming week:
  • Monday 4/15 - JV @ Thunderridge
  • Saturday 4/20 - Varsity @ George Washington - Schedule
More details to come on meet entries later this week.

Don't forget to give Coach Price all the encouragement he needs on that mile! Like and share here.

Track Updates and Revised Meet Schedules

Tonight's team dinner is ON at 6:30 pm at 8656 Forrest Drive. ALL athletes are invited!

Our JV had beautiful weather for their Thursday meet, but Colorado weather has not been track-friendly on the weekends this season!

For the safety of all athletes, Saturday's varsity meet is canceled based on the forecast of snow accumulation and sub-40 degree weather.

Next week, we will have two varsity meets and a JV meet:

  • Tuesday, April 2 -- Varsity @ Windsor -- noon start time (click for details) -- No bus is available. Coaches can drive some athletes and we'll talk with all athletes about carpooling.
  • Thursday, April 4 -- JV @ Mountain Vista
  • Saturday, April 6 -- Varsity  @ Echo Park

We're moving as quickly as we can to nail down details on transportation and meet rosters for next week. Coaches will be working with varsity athletes to understand their availability for Tuesday and Saturday meets. Also, because of cancellations and changing school-specific schedules within the league, our JV meet locations are in flux. Please watch for additional updates as we have more information. Soon we will also add photos from the JV meet to our photos page.
