THE PROGRAM WILL INVOLVE FORM/SPEED/AGILITY TRAINING, POWER & CORE DEVELOPMENT, & PROPER LIFTING TECHNIQUE (It is NOT a conditioning camp)

Why participate in our Speed/Running Form Camp?

Club coaches and private coaches are enticing high school athletes with the promise of scholarships / playing time often charging $200 to $500 a month and encouraging them to be one sport athletes. – BUT THEY USUALLY DO NOT MATCH OUR SUCCESS - OFTEN IT’S ABOUT THE MONEY!

Our program is designed to help athletes improve in running form and speed – SPEED AND AGILITY ARE OFTEN THE MAIN COMPONENTS in being successful in most sports – OUR SUMMER PROGRAM HAS BEEN THE KEY TO THE FOLLOWING:

1.) 80% of our athletes are multi-sport athletes (football, basketball, cross-country, softball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse and baseball) with many being the top athletes in their sports.

2.) 50% of our senior track athletes this year were offered Division 1 / Division 2 Athletic Scholarships

3.)  In the past 10 Years we have had One All-World, 3 All-Americans, 2 Denver Post Athletes of the Year and 3 Gatorade Athletes of the Year.

4.)  In the same time we have had 5 Division 1 basketball players letter in track and two Denver Post All-State players

5.)  Four of our track lettermen have been in NFL Camps the past three years with two playing in regular season games.

6.) We have averaged over 15 state qualifiers a year for the past 10 years – yes that is a huge accomplishment – most are multi-sport athletes.

7.)  Our athletes in the last 10 years have competed for 24 Division 1 schools in a variety of sports

OUR GOAL:  LET’S GET FASTER!   Hope to see you in June!  For more information, contact Lou Krauss at lwkrauss@dcsdk12.org

2:00pm Field Event start (we are still in session for school so parking will be minimal). We will start with both boys and girls Long Jump using both pits.

Field Events will be 4 attempts, no finals. We would like to keep a 2 hour open pit time for the field events. (2:00pm – 4:00pm and 4:30pm – 6:30pm)

2:30pm Track Event start with the 3200m

3:15pm Sprint Med with a rolling schedule to follow. Our desire is to get the Long Jump and High Jump events going with minimal track check-out interruption.
League coaches can decide how much time is needed between the 200m and the 1600m relay.

We will score 9 places (10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) and 6 places, double points in relays (20, 16, 12, 8, 4, 2).

Only the top 4 athletes from each school in an event can score and only 1 relay team from each school. No need to designate your “A” team, we will score your highest finisher.

Ribbons will be at the finish line. Please stay at the finish of the race and take your 1st-6th place ribbon right after the event. Please tell your highest field event placers to grab their ribbons.

Liberty Bell Info
  • Pole Vault is on Thursday at 3:30pm
  • Friday is rolling.  We will not go 15mins ahead of time.  Scratch meeting on Friday has been moved to 3:45pm since school will be getting out at 3:30pm.
  • Saturday is a set schedule.
  • Tell your athletes that they will be recognized on a podium for placing 1-3 on Saturday and given a medal (Pole Vault too).

Friday: Standard check-in tent will be at the 50yd line.
Saturday: For check-in, the athletes just need to show up at that tent before their running event and they will be staged.

Entries will be out Monday night. We will be going after relays big time this week in order to try and qualify as many relays as possible.

Extra Info
We have a ton of pictures taken by our awesome parents. Those can be found here. Take a look, almost all kids have pictures up!

Week 5- JV @ Ranch, Varsity at TJ Twilight (Friday)

 Team,

Last week JV crushed it at Pondo and varsity took a week off from racing and had a solid training week. This week we are back to business for both JV and varsity!

The Week Ahead

Thursday we will host the JV meet this week. Varsity athletes will be released from access at 2:20 to get their workout in quickly before helping out at the meet. It is a varsity requirement that they are there for the whole meet and do their assigned jobs. JV will obviously be competing but are expected to help clean up after they are done.

Friday (not Saturday) this week is the TJ Twilight Meet at All-City Stadium (located at Denver South High School). Athletes are expected to go to 1st hour on Friday and will be excused from 3rd-7th. A couple notes on that, if an athlete is not competing until later and wants to stay at school they are more than welcome. Also, if an athlete wants to come to the meet and cheer on the team that is allowed as well. The one thing we don't want is an athlete to not go to class and not be at the meet, it is the expectation that they are either in class or at All-City Stadium.

We've received two different schedules, one in email and one on milesplit. I have an email to the meet director for guidance. If it changes from this schedule I'll email the athletes directly.

Here are our entries for Friday - again, if you don't see your name that means you will be going JV this week.

Fundraising

Thank you so much for those that fundraised. Today is our last day. If you did not fundraise we ask that you make a donation to the team. We do not ask for booster dues and this is our only fundraiser so please consider donating to help us continue to pay for assistant coaches, new equipment, and help support our team and athletes. Photos

If you've taken photos at the meets please upload them here. We use these albums for our end-of-season slide show so even if it is only of your own athlete, please upload!

We have four hosts for our team dinners this year (thank you Flacks, Shores, Drys, and Girons). We also have team dinner hosting kits created by Holly Giron! Although we do not need anymore hosts, we do need help for the hosts, please sign up here to bring food/drinks or to co-host

Week 2 Updates - Entries, JV Canceled and More

 Team,

JV Update

With the terrible weather and no sign of it slowing down we are going to have to cancel the JV meet tomorrow. We will work on attempting to reschedule but if we are unable to we will do an intrasquad time trial next week to get some baseline times.

Varsity Meets

We have two varsity meets over spring break. One on the 12th (League Relays) and one on the 19th (Thunderridge Invite) both at Echo Park Stadium.

Click Here for Entries and Time Schedule for League Relays

Other Reminders

We have spike night tonight at Runner's Roost Lone Tree. Come by for a knowledgeable staff on what shoe you should be running in and discounts on both training and racing shoes.

We need more help with team dinners. Thanks to the Giron family, hosting became a lot easier. They are making team dinner host kits for families willing to host.

If interested in hosting or helping, please follow this link.

Fundraising

We've done a lot of different fundraising over the years and what we've found is that Snap Raise ends up making us the most money. We are not asking for booster club donations this year, just that you help us with fundraising. Follow this link for our fundraising page
